Meta Ads

Reach People Before They Start Searching.

Search advertising waits for someone to look for you. Facebook and Instagram do not wait — they put the right offer in front of the right person while they are scrolling, and give them a way to enquire without ever leaving the app.

What are Meta Ads?

Meta Ads are the advertisements you run across Meta's platforms — Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and the Audience Network — from one place, Meta Ads Manager, with one budget and one set of reports behind all of them.

That matters more than it sounds. You are not choosing between "a Facebook campaign" and "an Instagram campaign". You build one audience and one offer, and the system places it wherever that person happens to be — the feed at breakfast, Reels at lunch, Stories at night — and tells you afterwards which placement actually produced the enquiries.

Where your ad can appear

Facebook

Feed, Reels, Stories, Marketplace, Video and the right column on desktop.

Instagram

Feed, Explore, Stories and Reels — the strongest surface for anything visual.

Messenger

Inbox placements and sponsored messages to people who already wrote to you.

WhatsApp

Click-to-WhatsApp ads that open a chat with your business in one tap.

Audience Network

Partner apps and sites outside Meta, using the same targeting.

Threads

A newer feed placement, available through the same campaign setup.

Instagram is part of Meta Ads, but it deserves its own treatment — creative, formats and audience behave differently there. That is covered on the Instagram Ads page.

The case for it

Why Meta Ads?

Because on any given day, almost nobody is searching for you — but a very large number of the right people are scrolling.

It creates demand, not just captures it

Search advertising can only reach people already looking. Meta reaches the far larger group who would buy if they knew you existed — which is most of your market, most of the time.

Targeting search cannot match

Location, age, language, interests, life events, job titles, your own customer list, people who watched your video, people who visited your site. A search engine knows one phrase; Meta knows a pattern of behaviour.

Cheaper attention

In most Indian categories the cost of reaching a thousand relevant people on Meta is a fraction of the cost of a thousand clicks in a competitive search auction. That difference buys you room to test.

It is where visual businesses win

Interiors, construction, food, clothing, salons, property, events, education. If seeing the work is what convinces people, a text ad on a results page is the wrong medium and a Reel is the right one.

Retargeting that actually works

Most people do not enquire the first time. Meta lets you show a second, different message to everyone who watched the video, opened the form, or visited the site and left — usually the cheapest leads in the account.

You learn what your market responds to

Five creatives against the same audience is a real experiment run in days for the price of a few thousand rupees. The winning message then improves your website, your brochure and your sales pitch.

Where Meta is the wrong choice

It is not the right first channel for everything. Emergency and same-hour services, highly technical B2B products with a tiny buyer pool, and anything people only ever buy by searching for it are usually better served by Google Ads first. We will say so rather than sell you a campaign that suits us. The strongest accounts normally run both: Meta to build interest, search to catch it at the moment of intent.

From scroll to enquiry

How can you bring leads?

A lead is not a mystery. It is a specific chain of small steps, and every one of them can be built, measured and improved.

1. Define the buyer

Location, age, interests, or a list of people who already bought.

2. Stop the scroll

A photo, Reel or carousel worth pausing on — the single biggest lever.

3. Make one clear offer

A site visit, a sample, a price list, a demo — something worth a phone number.

4. Capture in one tap

Instant form, WhatsApp chat, call button or landing page.

5. Route it instantly

Straight into your CRM, sheet or WhatsApp so nothing waits in a dashboard.

6. Retarget the rest

Everyone who engaged but did not finish sees a second, different message.

The four routes a lead can arrive by

Instant forms

The form opens inside Facebook or Instagram with the name, phone and email already filled in from the person's profile. Nobody types on a phone keyboard, nobody waits for a page to load, and the drop-off between "interested" and "enquired" almost disappears.

  • Add one qualifying question to filter out browsers
  • Higher volume than a landing page, usually colder per lead
  • Leads must be pulled out and followed up fast

Click-to-WhatsApp

One tap opens a WhatsApp chat with your business, with the first message pre-written. For most Indian buyers this is the most natural way to enquire — no form, no call, no commitment.

  • Conversation starts on a channel people actually check
  • An automated first reply keeps them warm at 11pm
  • Pairs directly with WhatsApp automation

Click-to-call

The ad dials your number directly. Best where the decision is quick and the voice does the selling — services, repairs, admissions, bookings.

Website and landing page

The click goes to a page you control, where you can explain more, show proof and ask for a bigger commitment. Fewer leads, better ones — and the pixel plus Conversions API teach the algorithm who is worth showing the ad to next.

  • Needs a fast page that matches the ad exactly
  • Builds the retargeting audience for later
  • Best for considered, higher-value purchases

The part that decides everything: how fast you reply

A Meta lead is warm for minutes, not days. Somebody paused mid-scroll, tapped twice, and has already moved on to the next video. Reply within five minutes and the conversation usually happens; reply the next morning and a large share simply do not remember you. This is why we wire leads straight into WhatsApp or a phone queue instead of leaving them sitting in Ads Manager — and why, for most clients, fixing follow-up speed raises results more than raising the budget does.

Creative formats

What the ad itself can be

The format is not decoration. It decides how much of your story a person gets before they scroll past.

Single image

The workhorse. Fast to make, easy to test in bulk, and still the format most local businesses get their first leads from.

Best for: one clear offer, tested many ways.

Video and Reels

Vertical, sound-off-readable, first three seconds doing all the work. The highest-reach format on the platform and the cheapest attention available today.

Best for: showing work, process and proof.

Carousel

Several cards in one ad — models, rooms, plans, before-and-after. People swipe, and swiping is a signal Meta uses to find more people like them.

Best for: ranges, catalogues and step-by-step stories.

Instant form ads

The lead form opens inside the app, pre-filled. Built for phones, and the reason Meta can produce enquiry volume that a website form cannot match.

Best for: volume, with qualification built into the form.

Click-to-message

The ad opens WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram Direct with a first message ready to send. Lowest friction of any format for an Indian audience.

Best for: conversations, quotes and quick questions.

Catalogue ads

Products pulled from a feed and matched automatically to each viewer, including the exact item they looked at on your site and abandoned.

Best for: ecommerce stores with a product catalogue.

Who sees it

Four audiences, built in this order

Most wasted Meta budget comes from starting with the broadest audience and never building the other three.

Core audiences

Location, age, gender, language, interests and behaviours. A 15 km radius around Coimbatore, ages 28–50, interested in home construction — that is a core audience, and it is where a new account starts.

  • Good for launching, weak for scaling alone
  • Keep it broad enough for the algorithm to learn

Custom audiences

People who already interacted with you: website visitors from the pixel, video viewers, people who opened a form, Instagram followers, or a customer list you upload.

  • Upload customer lists only with proper consent
  • Your most valuable asset in the account

Lookalike audiences

Meta finds people who statistically resemble a source list you give it. Feed it your paying customers rather than all leads, and the quality difference is immediate.

  • Needs a few hundred good records to work well
  • Usually beats interest targeting once available

Retargeting audiences

Everyone who engaged and stopped short: watched 50% of the video, opened the form without submitting, reached the enquiry page and left. A different message, not the same ad again.

  • Smallest audience, cheapest leads
  • Cap the frequency — repetition annoys people

Tracking and consent, stated plainly

Retargeting and lookalikes depend on data: the Meta pixel on your website, the Conversions API on your server, and any customer list you choose to upload. Your site needs a cookie notice and privacy policy that say what is collected, and customer lists may only be uploaded where the people on them gave consent for that use. Since Apple's tracking changes, a share of iPhone conversions is estimated rather than directly measured — reported numbers and your own records will not match exactly, and any agency telling you otherwise is guessing.

Side by side

Meta Ads or Google Ads?

They answer different questions. One finds people who are looking; the other finds people who would look if they knew.

The honest part

What it takes to run Meta Ads properly

Boosting a post is not a campaign. These are the things that decide whether the budget produces customers or impressions.

Assets you own

A Meta Business Manager, ad account, Facebook Page, Instagram account and pixel — all in your business name, not an agency's.

Creative, and more of it

Ads fatigue. The same image against the same audience stops working in weeks, so a steady supply of new material is part of the job.

An offer worth a phone number

"Contact us" is not an offer. A site visit, a sample, a price list or a free assessment is.

Tracking that works

Pixel and Conversions API installed and verified, so the algorithm optimises toward real enquiries instead of clicks.

Someone who follows up fast

Leads go cold in minutes. Without a person or an automation answering quickly, the campaign cannot succeed no matter how good it is.

Budget through a learning phase

Early spend teaches the campaign who to target. Stopping and restarting every week resets that learning and wastes it.

What we do and do not claim

We set up your Business Manager and ad account in your name, build the audiences, direct and test the creative, construct the forms and message flows, install and verify the pixel and Conversions API, route leads to where you will actually see them, and report on cost per qualified lead. We do not guarantee a number of leads or a cost per lead — auction competition, creative fatigue, season, your offer and your follow-up speed all move the outcome. Meta also reviews every ad against its advertising policies and can reject ads or restrict accounts; we build to those policies, but no agency can promise approval. Ad spend is billed by Meta directly to your account, so you always see exactly what was spent.

Questions

Meta Ads questions

What businesses ask before putting money into Facebook and Instagram.

Meta Ads are the advertisements a business runs across Meta's platforms — Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and the Audience Network — from a single Meta Ads Manager account. One campaign can appear in the Facebook feed, in Instagram Stories and Reels, and inside partner apps, with the same budget, audience and reporting behind all of it.

Because most people are not searching for you yet. Search advertising captures demand that already exists; Meta Ads create it by putting a relevant offer in front of the right audience before they think to look. Meta also holds far richer interest and behaviour signals than a search engine does, costs less per thousand impressions in most Indian categories, and is the only realistic way to advertise something visual — interiors, food, fashion, property, events — at scale.

Through four routes. Instant forms open inside the app with the name, phone and email pre-filled, so nobody has to type on a phone. Click-to-WhatsApp ads open a chat with your business directly. Click-to-call ads dial your number. Website campaigns send traffic to a landing page and count the enquiry with the pixel and Conversions API. Retargeting then follows up with everyone who engaged but did not finish.

Often they are colder, and that is a fair criticism rather than something to argue with. A person filling an instant form saw an ad; a person clicking a search result went looking. The answer is not to avoid Meta but to qualify inside the form, follow up within minutes rather than days, and judge the channel on cost per qualified lead instead of cost per raw lead.

A lookalike audience is one Meta builds by finding people who resemble a group you already have — past customers, website visitors, or people who filled a form. You supply the source list, Meta finds statistically similar users. It usually outperforms interest-based targeting once you have a few hundred good records, which is why exporting your existing customer list is often the first useful step in an account.

Yes. Ads run from a Facebook Page, and Instagram placements need a linked professional Instagram account. You also need a Meta Business Manager that owns the ad account, the Page and the pixel in your business name — not in an agency's. We set these up so the assets stay yours if you ever change agency.

Enough for the campaign to exit its learning phase and gather meaningful data in your category, which depends on your audience size, competition and season. Spread too thinly across many audiences, a budget teaches nothing. We estimate a sensible starting range for your specific offer and area before you commit, and Meta bills you directly for ad spend, separately from any management fee.

No. Nobody can honestly guarantee a lead count or a cost per lead, because auction competition, creative fatigue, seasonality, your offer and your follow-up speed all move the result. Meta can also reject ads or restrict an account under its advertising policies. What we commit to is correct account and tracking setup, tested creative, disciplined audience work, fast reporting on cost per qualified lead, and telling you plainly when a campaign is not worth continuing.
